Member Services
The Collaborative fosters the research and education process through a number of tools available to members. For more information on membership, please see the
members page.
Public Sharing
Blog services for the Collaborative are provided by a customized
Wordpress installation. Blog access is limited by roles. Contributors can write but not publish articles. Authors can write and publish articles. Editors can write, publish and edit.
The collaborative uses
Google Apps to provide email and calendaring support. All collaborative members have creativesynthesis.com email addresses and access to shared calendaring.
The collaborative provides
vanilla forums for the discussion of research topics and issues. For the most part these forums are used for timely discussion (remote conferences, classes and events) and the results are then archived.
We use
delicious to share interesting links, which are also distributed in our rss feeds. Members can sign in as the creativesynthesis user, or simply tag things as being for us (for:creativesynthesis).
Citeulike shares intersting and useful citations. Members can join the group "Creative Synthesis Collaborative" and share citations with everyone about interesting research papers, conference proceedings and journals.
Sometimes citations just aren't big enough. The Collaborative uses
aNobii to keep a virtual bookshelf with the meaty kind of books that serve as the foundation of our knowledge. Members should join the "Creative Synthesis" Group to share.
We provide a
pmwiki installation that is used for shared resources. The distinction between the wiki and document sharing is that the wiki provides resources for general contribution.
A persistent chat space is provided by
campfire, this is intended for meetings as well as general conversation and connection between collaborative members.
We use
SurveyMoneky to conduct preliminary research using surveys, access to survey creation and analysis tools are available on request.
We use
Lighthouse for light (and public) issue tracking. Applications are open source by default, but private issues are also handled. Integration with Beanstalk is available on request.
We use
Beanstalk to provide subversion access for our efforts. There are public, private and external repositories. The public repository is (generally) for open source applications.
Private Sharing
