Seeking Student Researchers for Fall Term

We’re looking for students for the Fall Term through January.

The Collaborative offers support, resources, and stipends to students engaged in the research process.

Students should indicate which of the following two areas they are interested in applying to:

• Research Incubation - for students interested in exploring their own, self-generated research topics.
• Research Apprentice - for students interested in working on existing programs and research topics.

Students working with us are the owners of their own work, so students in early stages of startups are particularly suited for applications to the Research Incubation Program - however any sponsored research must necessarily include an open source intellectual / methodological / software or hardware component.

Ideal students are flexible and motivated, with a strong interest in the research and educational aspects of their work. Students are expected to set reasonable milestones and meet regularly with a Collaborative Advisor.

We are particularly interested in student applicants interested in the following topics: Evolutionary Software, Environmental (Green) Research, Research Methodology, Social Systems and Software, Data Sharing, Advertising, Information Visualization.

Student backgrounds that are particularly appropriate (in no particular order): Computer Science, Engineering, Design, Anthropology & Ethnography, Art, Cognitive Science, Education.

• Applicants to the Research Incubation Program should send a brief statement describing the research project or topic they are interested in exploring, a brief statement describing their background and any supporting materials to apply-student@creativesynthesis.net
• Applicants to the Research Apprentice Program should send a brief statement describing their background and areas of interest, as well as a resume and/or portfolio to apply-student@creativesynthesis.net
