Terri Ford and Erik Loyer’s Story Problem relies on mousetracks to create an interactive poem. The speed and movement of the reader’s mouse alter the textual and visual presentation of a poem by past Bread Loaf fellow Ford. This layer of interaction is comparable to the work of actors, who subtly interpret a set text; in the eyes of Ford and Loyer, the interaction between reader and poem opens the way for multiple experiences of the same work and recognizes the roles played by perception and context.
