To create an easy to use system of map annotation, the creators of Placeopedia have made the information available under a creative commons license.
Semapedia provides a more hands-on connection to Wikipedia. Users enter Wikipedia URLs, which the site converts into cell phone-readable sheets. The printed data become physical hyperlinks, allowing others to access information about places and objects they encounter.
