Iraq War Coalition Fatalities plots the location and dates of coalition deaths from March 2003 through late winter 2007.  To plot the fatalities temporally as well as spatially, a Flash animation follows the course of the war with each second representing ten days of combat.  The site allows users to filter the data, such as by removing US deaths or even by removing the map itself, leaving only an evolving scatterplot-like graphic to signify troop deaths.

The site’s creator, Tim Klimowicz, acknowledges its greatest fault:  the failure to register the deaths of civilians or of Iraqi forces.
