kara walker has long made provocative wall pieces with life-sized silhouettes cut from black paper. despite the sparse palette, her work always directly addresses racism and/or sexism. the murals depict allegories of oppression through two-dimensional caricatures of race and sex. they tell double stories, of overt racism and of the implicit bias in the simplicity of images.
. Leo is a artist, inventor and all around practical person in the Tangible Media Group at the Media Lab. He has a background in sculpture, architecture and industrial design as well as an MS from the Media Lab spent working on the kitchen of the future. He is on a search for truth.
