Gates of Light

Works by Portland animator and installation artist Rose Bond rely on newspapers, archival collections, and oral histories to develop a sense of community experience and explore current social issues and urban history.  Her pieces–incorporating multiple projection, dance, and animation–examine the development of Portland, the history of the Eldridge Street Synagogue in New York’s Lower East Side, and family memory.
