Just some random observations. (These are all from the osx version, by the by, and things could be different on the pc)

  • I don’t know if this is a ‘just-for-beta’ thing or not, but the periodic table of elements like icon really impresses me. Sure it violates all of Apple’s user interface guidelines, but man it means business.
  • When you bring the application to the foreground the palette windows fade in. This is an extremely silly and subtle little thing, but it feels really nice from a user perspective, especially since it gives you a second to see your content before the controls
  • The interface in general seems much more effecient. One row of tools by default, things seem to take up less real estate, and generally look nice
  • It’s fast again. Sorry but rosetta just wasn’t cutting it

All in all seems great, at least from a casual perspective. Still, I’ve gotten kind of used to chocoflop and I don’t think I’ll be using it as much as I thought I would.

Matthew is the Director of the Collaborative. He writes rarely, and that makes him sad.
